Christmas Cocktail

The Annual Christmas Cocktail takes place in early December at the Leonardo da Vinci Center. In addition to being a small thank you to Governors for their support, it is also at this time that the Foundation presents major donations to recipient organizations.

2017 Holiday Cocktail

The Italian-Canadian Community Foundation ended the year on the heels of change on the occasion of their Holiday Cocktail held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Centro Leonardo da Vinci. More than 100 Governors and friends attended the event, including the Italian Consul General Marco Riccardo Rusconi and the Deputy of Jeanne-Mance-Viger Filomena Rotiroti. The evening was an opportunity to recognize the precious work done throughout the year by the members of the Foundation’s Board of Fiduciaries and event organizing committees. It was also an occasion to recognize the important philanthropic commitment of the Foundation’s members.

Newly appointed President, Tony Loffreda, was pleased to welcome guests and said he is very motivated to continue in the footsteps of his predecessors in carrying out the Foundation’s vital mission. He recognized the hard work and dedication of staff, board and committee members and thanked all Governors for their continued support.  Mr. Loffreda also highlighted the contributions of Executive Director, Anna Giampà, who announced that she will be shifting her focus onto personal projects and reorienting her career in 2018. Ms. Giampà has been a dedicated and dynamic leader throughout her eight years of service to the FCCI. On behalf of all Governors, Mr. Loffreda, expressed deep gratitude and wished her great success in her new endeavors.

During the evening, there was also a special honor bestowed to FCCI Governor Davide Scalia.  Consul General, Marco Riccardo Rusconi, was on-site to present Mr. Scalia with the “Cavaliere dell’ordine del merito della repubblica.” Mr. Scalia expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Consul General for this prestigious recognition.  To conclude this presentation, Centro Leonardo da Vinci Director General, Mr. Pat Buttino, proudly unveiled the newly named bocce court: Bocce o dromo Nina & Cav. Davide Scalia.

2017 New Year Cocktail

The Italian-Canadian Community Foundation started the New Year in great style on the occasion of their annual cocktail held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Casa d’Italia.
Governors and Friends were invited to the Casa d’Italia, an icon of the Italian-Canadian community, whose mission is to safeguard our heritage and collective memory by preserving, promoting and developing Italian-Canadian culture. Two artists were invited to showcase their works to complement the evening, and as a symbol of universal language that brings people together. More than 75 Governors and friends attended the event, including the Italian Consul General Marco Riccardo Rusconi and the Consul Filippo Lonardo, to celebrate a successful 2016 and gear up for a very promising 2017. The cocktail was a great opportunity to express gratitude for the generosity and support of the Foundation’s members and to recognize the valuable work accomplished by the members of the Board of Fiduciaries and of the event organizing committees.

2015 Christmas Cocktail

The Italian-Canadian Community Foundation ended the year on the heels of change and excitement on the occasion of their annual Christmas cocktail held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Restaurant Fiorellino. Fiorellino, a brand new downtown restaurant with a clean and industrial feel reminiscent of Manhattans most sought after dining spots, held a soft opening just days before their grand opening specially for the FCCI. More than 125 Governors and friends celebrated a successful year for the organization. This was the perfect opportunity to recognize the precious work accomplished throughout the year by the members of the Board of Fiduciaries, of the event organizing committees and the important philanthropic commitment of the Foundations members.
